Shipping & Transit Policy for Repaired Bats
August 2025
Note: The terms in this policy supersede our general shipping policy, as it applies solely to cricket bat repairs. In these cases, we are returning an item that belongs to you, on your behalf.
As of August 2025, we use Parcelforce for all domestic and international bat deliveries, along with their approved shipping partners for specific countries.
Once your repaired bat leaves our workshop, it is in the care of the courier. Every order is provided with a tracking number once dispatched. With Parcelforce, tracking details are typically updated overnight after the parcel has been processed at their depot. This means tracking may not show immediately after collection.
When your bat is in the possession of the courier, OX29 Bat Doctor is no longer responsible for the package. Any delivery delays, issues, or queries should be taken up directly with the courier. We will, however, make every reasonable effort to assist where possible.
In the rare event that a bat is lost or damaged during transit, our default shipment compensation value is £150.
For most customers, this is sufficient, as factors such as the bat’s condition, age, and depreciation are taken into account by the courier when processing claims. Most damaged & repaired cricket bats will not retain a value beyond £150.
If you have concerns or wish to increase the compensation value for your repair order, please contact us by email before dispatch, and we can discuss additional options.
If You Order a Postal Box From Us
If you purchase a postal box from OX29 Bat Doctor for the purpose of sending your bat(s) to us for repair, the same transit terms and limits apply from the moment the box is in the possession of the courier.
- The £150 maximum compensation limit applies to the outward journey (to us) as well as the return (back to you).
- As with repaired bat returns, this amount is not guaranteed and will be assessed by the courier based on the same factors listed below.
By choosing to have your bat shipped (either to us or back to you), you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- £150 is the maximum compensation that can be claimed from the courier for loss or damage in transit.
- This amount is not guaranteed. The courier will assess each claim and may offer a lower amount—or decline it entirely—based on:
- The current condition of the bat
- Evidence of wear and tear
- The date of purchase or manufacture
- Any compensation offered is at the sole discretion of the courier, not OX29 Bat Doctor.
- We will make every effort to support your claim, but we cannot be held liable beyond the amount paid by the courier.
- If you would like to arrange additional insurance cover, please contact us before dispatch so this can be arranged at an extra cost.
