1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using www.ox29batdoctor.co.uk (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must not use this website or our services.

2. Products & Services

OX29 Bat Doctor specialises in handmade and custom cricket bats, cricket equipment, accessories, and bat care services.

Each bat is individually crafted. Due to the nature of handmade products, minor variations in grain, weight, and finish may occur. These natural differences do not affect performance or quality.

All product descriptions, specifications, and pricing on the Site are subject to change without notice. We may modify or discontinue any product or service at any time.

3. Placing an Order & Payments

  1. Order acceptance – Your order is deemed accepted once we confirm it by email. At that point, a contract exists between you and us.
  2. Out of stock – We take care to ensure accurate stock levels but, in rare cases, an item may be unavailable. If so, we will inform you and offer an alternative or refund.
  3. Payments – Prices are in GBP (£) and include UK VAT where applicable. International currency conversions are for guidance only. Orders are confirmed only when payment is successfully processed via our secure payment partners.
  4. Ownership & responsibility – Goods remain our property until fully paid for and delivered to you or a person authorised by you to receive them.
  5. Refusal of orders – We may decline orders for reasons including: inability to deliver to your location, suspicion of resale activity, pricing errors, or breach of these Terms.

4. Shipping Overview

For New Product Orders

  • Standard UK shipping: Royal Mail
  • Large/heavy items (e.g., bats): Parcelforce
  • Express orders: Placed before 11:00am (Mon–Fri) usually dispatch same day; typically delivered in 1 working day (allow 2–3 during busy periods)
  • International shipping: Available for most products; some exclusions apply (quote on request)
  • Import duties/fees: Customer is responsible
  • Address errors: Items returned due to incorrect/incomplete address will be resent at customer’s cost

For Repaired Bats (Repairs)

  • Courier: Parcelforce for all UK & international returns
  • Tracking: Provided upon dispatch; may not update immediately after collection
  • Liability: Once collected by the courier, OX29 Bat Doctor is not responsible for loss, delays, or damage
  • Compensation limit: £150 per shipment (covers both outward & return if you buy a postal box from us)
  • Additional insurance: Available at extra cost if arranged before dispatch
  • Courier’s discretion: Any compensation is decided by the courier, not OX29 Bat Doctor

5. Shipping & Delivery (New Product Orders)

Domestic Shipping (UK)

  • Standard shipping partner: Royal Mail
  • Large/heavy items (e.g., cricket bats): Parcelforce

Express Orders

  • Orders placed before 11:00am (Monday–Friday) are typically dispatched the same working day.
  • Express delivery is usually within 1 working day, but please allow 2–3 working days during busy periods or for orders placed after 11:00am on Fridays (next delivery day may be Monday).

Important Notes

  • If an item is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, or is refused upon delivery, it will be resent once back in our possession. Additional postage charges will apply.
  • We are not responsible for delivery delays or issues caused by incorrect delivery details provided by the customer.

International Shipping

  • We ship many products — including custom handmade bats — worldwide.
  • Some items (e.g., duffle bags) may not be available for international shipping directly via our website. For a quote, email ox29batdoctor@gmail.com with your item(s) and delivery destination.
  • Import duties and customs fees are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Delivery times vary depending on customs clearance and local courier services; we will provide an estimated timeframe when quoting.
  • Shipping costs vary by destination and will be confirmed before processing your order.

6. Shipping & Transit Policy for Repaired Bats

This section applies only to cricket bat repairs and overrides our general shipping policy. In these cases, we are returning your property to you.

  • Courier – As of August 2025, all domestic and international repaired bat deliveries are handled via Parcelforce and their approved partners.
  • Tracking – A tracking number will be provided when your bat leaves our workshop. Tracking may not update immediately after collection.
  • Liability – Once collected by the courier, OX29 Bat Doctor is not responsible for loss, delays, or damage. Any issues should be raised directly with the courier. We will assist where reasonably possible.
  • Compensation Limit – The default maximum claim value with the courier is £150 per shipment, covering both return and outward journeys (if you purchase a postal box from us to send your bat in). This value is not guaranteed and may be reduced by the courier based on condition, age, and wear of the bat.
  • Additional Cover – If you wish to insure your bat for more than £150, you must contact us before dispatch so we can arrange additional cover at extra cost.
  • Courier’s Discretion – Any compensation for loss or damage is determined by the courier, not OX29 Bat Doctor. We are not liable beyond the amount paid out by the courier.

By choosing courier shipping for a repaired bat, you accept the above terms.

7. Warranty & Bat Care

All OX29 bats come with a 6-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship from the date of purchase.

The warranty covers:

  • Split handles (from normal use)
  • Delamination or major cracks due to material faults
  • Structural defects not caused by misuse

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from improper use (e.g., with hard or non-cricket balls)
  • Toe or edge cracks
  • Water damage
  • Lack of proper maintenance (e.g., not oiling or knocking-in)
  • Normal wear and tear

Custom bats are non-refundable unless defective under warranty.

Claims must include proof of purchase. We may inspect the bat before deciding on repair, replacement, or partial credit toward a new bat.

8. Returns & Your Right to Cancel

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If there’s an issue, please contact us promptly.

Return Eligibility

  • Notify us within 7 days of receiving your item to initiate a return.
  • Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt.
  • Products must be unused, undamaged, and in the same condition as when dispatched.
  • Items showing any signs of use — including grass stains on shoes, ball marks on bats, or other wear and tear — cannot be accepted for return or exchange.
  • Custom-made or personalised bats are non-refundable unless faulty.

  • Include a note in your return parcel with your Full Name, Order Number, and your request (Refund or Exchange).

Return Shipping Info

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are processed within 5 working days of receiving your return (with all details included).
  • If your return does not meet the eligibility criteria, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality.

9. Our Right to Cancel an Order

We may cancel an order if:

  • Payment is declined or fails security checks
  • All items in the order are unavailable
  • You do not provide necessary information or delivery access
  • You breach these Terms

If cancelled, we will refund you for any goods not provided.

10. Intellectual Property

All site content, including text, images, product descriptions, branding, and design, is the intellectual property of OX29 Bat Doctor and must not be copied, reused, or distributed without permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or misuse of our products or services. Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the product.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of your home jurisdiction.

If you have a complaint, please contact us by email first so we can try to resolve it. If unresolved, you may seek advice from Citizens Advice (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) or consider an Alternative Dispute Resolution service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law or business practices. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the effective date. The Terms in place at the time of your order will apply to that purchase.
