Warranty
OX29 Cricket Bat Warranty
At OX29, we take immense pride in the craftsmanship of our bats, and we want you to feel confident in your purchase. That's why we offer a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects related to the blade and handle. If your bat experiences issues within this period that we believe are due to faulty craftsmanship or materials, we will repair or replace it at our discretion.
Warranty Coverage Includes:
- Manufacturing defects (e.g. cracks in the blade or handle, structural faults due to craftsmanship)
- Handle issues (e.g. loosening or breakage)
- Defects caused by poor materials (e.g. flaws within the grain structure of the willow)
Common Causes of Damage Not Covered:
- Bowling machine use
- Water damage, particularly to the toe
- Mis-hits & mistimed shots
- Extreme heat or dry conditions
- Improper use, lack of preparation or maintenance
- Severe wear & tear
- Bat sharing
- Sticker removal or rebranding
- Repairs by third parties
Warranty Exceptions: Defect, Refurbished, Used & Indian-Made Bats
We occasionally sell bats in our Defect / Used / Refurbed / Indian-Made category at a discounted rate. These may have minor imperfections, previous use, or structural quirks that make them unsuitable for standard pricing.
Unless explicitly stated in the individual product listing, these bats are sold without warranty. This is clearly noted at the top of the collection page. If a bat does include warranty coverage, it will be mentioned in the product description. If in doubt, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
Conditions of the Warranty
We understand that cricket bats endure significant use, and some wear is inevitable. However, damage from misuse or neglect is not covered. Here's a closer look at common exclusions:
- Bowling Machine Use: Synthetic balls can damage blades and handles. Use an older bat for this.
- Water Damage: Moisture causes swelling or cracking — especially around the toe.
- Improper Use & Mis-hits: Cracks and edge damage from poor timing are not covered.
- Extreme Heat or Dry Conditions: Store bats correctly to avoid brittleness and cracking.
- Severe Wear & Tear: Bats with excessive signs of misuse or prolonged hard use are not eligible.
- Bat Sharing: Bats used by multiple players may experience uneven wear and are not covered.
- Sticker Removal / Rebranding: Modifying the bat's original branding voids the warranty.
- Repairs by Third Parties: Non-OX29 repairs or home fixes void warranty coverage.
Knocking-In Services
Please note: Any bat that has been ordered with one of our knocking-in services — whether hand or machine knocked — is not eligible for a refund of that service. Knocking-in is a labour-intensive process that requires time, equipment, and staffing, and therefore the cost is non-refundable under any circumstances, even if the bat is returned or replaced.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your bat has developed a fault that qualifies for warranty coverage, please email us at ox29batdoctor@gmail.com with the following details:
- Description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the damage

Important: For every warranty claim, the bat must be returned to us in its entirety. We cannot assess or process claims on partial returns (e.g. blade only or handle only), or when the bat is not returned to us at all.
Once received, we’ll assess the issue and advise on next steps.
Please note: All inbound shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

EQUIPMENT WARRANTY
All protective equipment comes with a 6 month fair wear & tear warranty. Providing that the equipment has been well maintained and looked after, fault will be honoured with full credit or replacement when proof of purchase is provided. Anything considered not fair wear & tear, where the item has received substantial due to misuse, or from damage that is not related to the game of cricket, will not be covered.
Please be aware that cricket equipment is made out of materials that can be prone to some wear and tear during use. It is to be expected that the visual appearance of your product will deteriorate with use as a result of the nature of the game, and this is to be considered fair wear and tear.
Warranty only covers damage which prevents the item from being used to its full capability and does not cover normal wear and tear, superficial or aesthetic damage. For example, a worn-out palm on a pair of batting gloves may not be covered if it has had plenty of use.
Receipt for proof of purchase must be presented to make a warranty claim.
Warranty on Converted Trainers / Pre-Spiked Trainers / Trainers into Cricket Shoes
OX29 provides a 3 month warranty on sole lifting and damage to the sole that we have fitted to the trainers. Such faults are subject to our discretion, where we will judge whether the issue has been caused by our processes, or whether this has been caused by use / misuse.
The type of sole that is fitted to our trainers, we recommend that these are used for the purpose of batting and fielding only. Those who wish who bowl spin in our trainer spikes, must be aware that doing so puts additional wear and tear into the soles, and this is not something that we can cater for in our warranty. It can be the case that the sole lifts, and we are happy to review such instances. However, when soles have lifted due to bowling, and general foot scraping and dragging, instances like this do not result in successful warranty claims.
Likewise, damage that occurs to the shoe itself, whether this is rips in the upper foot, or stud marks and heavy markings that sometimes occur to the actual foot of the shoe, are not catered for in our warranty.
Our process of stocking spiked trainers, is identifying popular shoes that cricketers are sending to cobblers to get spiked, and stocking these for customers to buy without the lead time. We purchase shoes from within retail in the UK. Once we have modified the sole to turn it into a shoe fit for cricket, we are not able to make warranty claims on faults that may occur to the shoe itself. The customer must be aware of this prior to purchase. We guarantee the soles, but not the shoe itself.
