'The Traditionalist'

The traditional colour of cricket socks:

In an attempt to prevent foot related ailments in the trenches, soldiers during the First World War would cover their feet in antibacterial powder which in turn, turned their white socks, lilac.

In post war times, soldiers found that their heavy duty army socks were perfect for the wear and tear endured by the feet when playing cricket, particularly the bowlers.

It didn’t take long for manufactures to catch onto this trend, and start producing army-like socks, in this lilac colour. In recent years this tradition has faded away and been replaced by grey or cream coloured socks.

Thus, we would like to introduce you to our cricket sock: The Traditionalist, by OX29 Bat Doctor.

Also available in Grey.

Made from Merino Wool.

2 sizes fit all.
